The defeat

 

A friend of mine wanted to buy a shower curtain. He was looking for it at a drugstore. A store clerk told him they didn't have any at this location, but that she could look up a different location that would have them in stock.

In the second location he asked a store clerk where the shower curtains were. She laughed at him and said they definitely didn't sell those here.

So he looked for a shower curtain on his own in the store, and found it. At the register sat the clerk who had laughed at him. He put it down in front of her. In total silence she scanned his item.

It is hard to admit one's mistakes.
