Being a teacher must be tough, but I never thought of my teachers as wise. I had this feeling that they know nothing about life, that they hadn't realized the absurdity of life. I hated them for taking their job seriously. I thought they were phonies, telling how important it is to be a critical and open-minded thinker, while punishing students' attempts to live accordingly. Critical thinking in school meant to be able to reproduce what your teachers said were critical opinions.
